I have not been able to pump out a lot of art lately. This is kind of old but it is a concept for a character in a fighting game a friend and I are slowly working on. Just some basic sketches of the A,B,C and jumps.

Finished product, I like it a lot and this is a great step forward for me. I really wish to make beautiful scenes of fantasy artwork but I want it to all be my own style, something that I personally love and enjoy.

Added the lighting on Luthien herself. I am make these pictures in stages because I think it may be helpful as a tutorial and to show how I do my art. Either way only the background to go and final details.

A little farther on it now, still don’t know what I want to do with the background.

A WIP, attempting to work with backgrounds a little more. I need something that fits my style.

I picked up a book about digital art and after sifting through it a bit I had some inspiration to try new techniques and hopefully evolve my artwork into something new. I plan to somewhat use my own art skills in the games that I make even before I am part of a studio. This means there is a possibility I do the artwork for an entire game and I want to be able to have flexibility.
This image itself is a bit of a test run using the marker tool in SAI with the Watercolor tool and pencil tool. I am attempting to generate form with lighting and shading so there will most likely never be color in this image.
I am looking for some critique! I want to know if there is something I am missing when it comes to the lighting or the background. I don’t know how to make a lot of things look the way they should especially since my style has remained an anime style for a long time. I am attempting to make it more Fantasy or conceptual looking and I also feel like I am improving on that as well.
Nothing special but this was posted in an interview.
Jin-soo: When a player logs out, they can become an NPC. For example, if you had the ability to repair gear as a blacksmith, a player could log out and other players could come to you (as an NPC) and use your services. An alchemist could provide potion creation with the necessary items. Of course you’d get money for this, so you can earn money while logged out. It’s an evolution of RO’s vending system. Also, RO’s Kafra system makes a return.
I like that concept and I haven’t played an established MMO with this ability. EQ kinda had a shop system and so did FFXI but that isn’t the same.
