Intellectual Property

I have a ton of awesome ideas for games. I know they are good ideas because I share them with others who understand the concepts behind games and what makes them fun/successful.

I am not in the industry per say (I do work for a Larp organization) and I wish to present my ideas for future positions in the industry. However I am afraid to post my mechanics, gameplay, and stories because it could easily be stolen by someone who is already in the industry.

I am still new to game design and thus my name has no credit or style to other designers meaning if my idea was stolen no one would believe me. So as a novice how do I present my ideas for people to see without losing them to those who can only ride on the backs of others? I want people to recognize the talents I have and create those games in the future. I don’t want to be known as a copy cat of my own ideas because it took me longer to get it done.

Pass this on, and please reply with thoughts and information.

The game industry has had a lot of ups and downs and a lot of the problems are also part of our success. This is a nice little insight into the MIGS 2011 5-minuteĀ speechesĀ given by different designers in the industry.
